Eight drug/drug candidates formulated as aerosols

Eight different drugs or drug candidates with anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and other properties have been formulated as Novochizol aerosols for intra-pulmonary delivery, and tested on mice using an in-house multiplex inhalator:

Angiotensin Type 1 Receptor inhibitors (ARBs ) : Lostartan, Valsartan, Temisartan. More info

ARBs inhibit the internalization and inactivation of ACE2,  the main receptor of SARS-CoV-2, which also converts pro-inflammatory, vasoconstrictive Angiotensin-2 into anti-inflammtory, vasodilating Angiotensin-1, 7. ARBs thus act both as anti-virals and anti-inflsammatory drugs. They have been shown to protect COVID-19 patients from severe lung pathologies.

Digoxin,  an inhibitor of Mpro,  the main protease of SARS-COV-2 and related viruses. More info

Soloxolone methyl, a pleiotropic anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor agent.
